Loreal's Model: Aishwarya Rai

she is the most beutiful woman that I ever seen.

Here are some details about her:

Aishwarya Rai was born on November 1, 1973 to a “marine engineer father” and a “teacher mother” in Mangalore, Karnatka, India (SantaBanta). She is the youngest of two siblings: a brother and a sister. She was brought up with the common Indian traits: do well in school, live at home until marriage, be religious and she has done all of them; she has always been very dedicated to education, and her saddest time in her life was when she scored 8th place in her school, S.S.C; she still lives at home with her family; and she is a devout Hindu who frequents temples to pray to Lord Ganesh, Remover of Obstacles (USA Indians).

While she was studying architecture at Rachana Institute, her friends pressured her join Miss India, and then Miss World (IMDB). She didn’t go expecting to win, but she was crowned the Indian Miss World 1994. While she was in the competition, she was named Miss Photogenic, Miss Cat Walk, and Miss Perfect 10. After her crowning, she was asked to be a Bollywood actress and she started out with Iruvar, which “received critical acclaim” (Aishwarya World). “In 2000 she was awarded Best Actress by FilmFare and Zee Cine for her work in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam” (Aishwarya World). In 2002, she starred in Devdas, the ”most ambitious and most successful film in Bollywood history” (Aishwarya World). At the same time, she became the internation face for L’Oréal Paris, De Beers Diamonds, and Coca-Cola.

Most recently, Aishwarya has starred in Bride and Prejudice, “a Hollywood-funded but Bollywood-ized version of Jane Austen’s classic novel, Pride and Prejudice” (Wikipedia). TIME Magazine has named her one of the “100 Most Influential People in the World” (Wikipedia). She has been interviewed by Oprah and 60 Minutes under the title of “The Most Beautiful Woman in the World” (Wikipedia). She has been on many magazine covers, namely TIME, Vogue, and India Today. "She also became the first Indian female to be immortalized in wax at the world famous Madame Tussaud’s wax mesuem in London" (Aishwarya World). She is “set to star in Chaos opposite Meryl Streep…and in Singularity opposite Brendan Fraser” (SantaBanta).

Aishwarya is and shall remain a role model for Indians around the world. She is proud of her culture and her background, and she relays that, giving Indians pride. She remains very reserved, refined, elegant, and admirable, which will guarantee her mark on the world.
